Alan "huntinfever" and I headed out for a little turkey hunting Sunday mourning. It was 16 with a heavy frost when we left his house. Alan had seen a couple flocks using a cut corn field so we got the blind up and set out a couple of decoys. Around 7:30 Alan made a few yelps followed by some kee-keys. In just a few minutes a large flock of jakes came running from a cedar thicket to our set up. Then it was 1,2,3 shoot. Killing a double with a good friend makes you forget about the cold.
