Burning and running a chainsaw does tend to excite alot of people. It's not so meuch work as it is play.

And yes the chainsaw is a game manager's best friend. If Heaven exists, and I make it (lol) I hope Peter hands me a shotgun (that fits me properly) and directs me to an endless sea of weed fields and cutover timber. The harps and streets of gold are all yours. :P

I like it! thats a neat way to display the tail fans. I need to make the trip out east and try to knock one down for my collection.

I'm kinda pressed for room there. there are about 5 turkey fans and 10 grouse fans there actually - I just had to pile them up for the time being.

I'm sure I can steal a weekend to act as grouse guide, although I have no dogs, although you can hunt them minus the dog really.

You could always come up for the Paintsville hunts. I mostly go up to have a good time, but I could be serious for two days surely. 8)

I had a good season, killed 14. Both my shooting and my honeyholes were much better than in recent years. Hopefully next season will be better.
I must say I'm a bit confused as to where grouse threads belong now- small game or upland birds...aren't they the same thing?

There are folks that hunt many years to bag 14 grouse. I've never killed one, although I did draw my bow on one once in WV, just didn't know where my buddy was so I was afraid to shoot for fear of hitting him.

As for upland birds and small game being the same, yes and no. Basically if it doesn't fit elsewhere then small game has it covered. I wanted to keep the birds out of the rabbit/squirrel hunters.
